In each story we are given a glimpse into the life of he character who suffers death.Do you think that the grandmother and Fortunato are wrongdoers who get what they deserve, or are they innocent victims of circumstances? For each of these characters, use evidence from the story to argue either that the character is facing a judgement day of his or her own making, or that the character would be more accurately cast in the role of innocent victim.
